Eastland Helicopter Rescue Trust

The Eastland Helicopter Rescue Trust is a not-for-profit charitable organisation whose primary aim is to support the delivery of lifesaving care to patients in rural or remote areas of the Tairāwhiti region, as well as providing critical out-of-zone services when required.

The trust backs the Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter team which flies more than 350 life-saving missions a year . . . and growing.

Eastland Helicopter Rescue Trust (EHRT) has been behind the Eastland Rescue Helicopter since its beginnings in the tumult after 1988’s Cyclone Bola.

Over the years it has grown from an occasional service with an on-call pilot and a borrowed ambulance paramedic to a dedicated team of four pilots, four crewmen and four critical care flight paramedics.

To help keep the team in the air, Eastland Helicopter Rescue Trust needs to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars...each and every year. Their endowment fund with Sunrise will keep supporting them, forever.
