A minimum of $50,000 is required to seed a Named Fund or a Special Interest Fund. We will work closely with you and others involved to create a fund which best fits with your charitable objectives.
You choose the causes and projects that benefit from your generosity (our team of local experts can help you identify local groups working in the spaces you're passionate about).

Your gift is invested and grown, supporting transformative work in our community year after year.
The strength of Sunrise Foundation is that all donations and bequests are invested and held as permanent endowments (forever). Donated funds are pooled and invested in a single investment portfolio. Our smarter giving model ensures efficient management, enhanced returns, and better security of capital. At present, Sunrise has over $8 million funds invested.
A portion of income earned by the endowment funds may be withheld in a reserve to ensure growth of the investment portfolio in line with inflation and to protect capital from future investment market fluctuations. A maximum of one percent per annum may be retained from endowment income for administrative costs of the foundation.

When you establish a fund with Sunrise Foundation, we take the time to understand your giving goals. We’ll sit down together to discuss options such as when to donate (during your lifetime or as part of your will), what causes to support, and the amount you wish to give.
