Hearing Fund in Action

A grant from Sunrise’s Hearing Fund has helped Ollie Egan purchase a laptop that is compatible with his cochlear implants, allowing them to connect directly and making online learning, research and study more accessible while he is at university.

The Hearing Assistance Fund with Sunrise was established after Gisborne Hearing Association closed in 2016 after nearly 70 years advocating for and assisting those with hearing impairments. The residue funds of the long running organisation were used to seed the fund.

Sunrise invites applications for grants from individuals who are hearing impaired and organisations that are involved in education or projects which help hearing impaired people.
