Sunrise Foundation is delighted to announce the establishment of The Aurora Education Foundation Endowment Fund, created to support the foundation's work with high-potential children across our region.
The fund has been generously seeded by a local group of donors who are deeply passionate about youth and education, and who recognise the significant impact The Aurora Education Foundation (Aurora) has had in the region over the last 10 years. Their vision is to ensure this important work can continue to grow and reach even more children in the years ahead.
Aurora provides specialised programmes for high-potential learners, often travelling long distances to reach some of the most isolated schools in the country, from Hicks Bay to as far south as Tutira. Operating on a lean model, with a small core team and a network of specialist facilitators, Aurora is committed to delivering quality, well-governed programmes that foster talent in ways that benefit both individuals and our wider community.
Co-founder Karen Bush (Sunny) says the new fund is an exciting step forward. “We see extraordinary potential in the children we work with. This fund gives us confidence that we can keep investing in that potential, strengthening our extension programmes and expanding our reach across the Gisborne and East Coast region. It’s about backing our future leaders for the long term.”
Sunrise CEO Glenda Stokes says the fund reflects a shared vision. “When local people invest in education, they’re investing in the future of our region.”
Donations to The Aurora Education Foundation Endowment Fund with Sunrise are warmly welcomed to help it grow and extend its impact for generations to come.
