With many in our extended community facing loss and devastation following Cyclone Gabrielle, it’s been humbling to be at the receiving end of so much aroha and support from across the country.
‘Howzat!’ for a fundraiser?
A cricket fundraising event in Queenstown raised almost $27,000 for sports organisations in our region affected by Cyclone Gabrielle who needed to replace or repair equipment.
Cyclone relief for Tairāwhiti
The effects of Cyclone Gabrielle have left many people devastated throughout Tairāwhiti. Some people have contacted us asking if they can donate money to a relief effort.
Commitment from Trust Tairāwhiti for future funding
It’s been a fabulous start to 2023 at Sunrise after we received a commitment from Trust Tairāwhiti for continued funding next year and another two years conditionally after that.

Grant aids animal desexing on the Coast
SPCA Gisborne Tairāwhiti put their $2000 grant from Sunrise towards the cost of running their current mobile desexing programme on the East Coast.
