Words from Glenda

We would like to offer a huge thanks to Trust Tairāwhiti for the support they have given us over the past eight years. We are delighted to announce we’ve secured more funding from them going forward. This funding leaves us free to focus on building our endowment fund, which in turn helps us to help so many organisations in our community.

We are immensely grateful to all our donors who have supported us on our Sunrise journey so far. No matter how big or small your donation or bequest, every little bit helps as we strive to build a better community for future generations.

We’re excited to announce that Chelsea Hospital has recently launched an endowment fund with us at Sunrise. Having the security of a grant from their fund every year forever, will support them in being able to continue providing patients with the excellent level of care they are well known for.

With the end of the financial year approaching, March is a time when you may be considering donating to a charity. We have 49 special interest funds at Sunrise for you to choose from, including the General fund. It is from the General fund that we grant to applicants in our annual funding round. If you want to know more about our funds or how you can give, please contact me as I’m more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Are you or someone you know considering selling a house or some land? If so, please consider becoming a ‘Community Hero’ by listing and selling with Bayleys Gisborne. At the completion of any successful sale Bayleys will donate $1000 towards our operating costs, but you must mention Sunrise in your initial consultation.

Enjoy Autumn as we leave this wet summer behind us. It is the perfect time to visit Eastwoodhill Arboretum and soak up the beauty of the leaves as they change colours between seasons.

Take care
