Welcome John Larsen, our new Platinum Sponsor

Local businessman John Larsen has been a regular donor and staunch supporter of Sunrise since our inception in 2014. He has now taken his support one step further by becoming a Sunrise Platinum Sponsor. 

In doing so, John has generously committed to at least three years' support towards our ongoing operating costs. Until we become self-sustainable, we are reliant on funders and sponsors, so John’s support of this fund is hugely appreciated.

Eight years ago, John attended our launch where Sir Stephen Tindall introduced Sunrise and the endowment model we have adopted. John says he immediately understood the future benefits to both donors and our community and wanted to become involved.

“When you give to other organisations you never know how much of it actually goes where it’s intended. With Sunrise it’s totally the reverse.”

John says knowing that $99 of a $100 donation goes towards whatever fund people support, with only $1 going towards Sunrise operating costs really appeals to him but he acknowledges operating on 1% must be a challenge.

“Until Sunrise grows and becomes self-sustainable, I’m happy to support them. There’s so much good stuff they're doing in the community, they shouldn’t be hampered by a lack of finance.”
