Sunrise General Fund helps most needy

Charities and community organisations with a charitable purpose in Tairāwhiti-Gisborne can apply for grants from the Sunrise General Fund until 30 June 2020.
In our annual funding round we offer charities and community organisations the opportunity to apply for grants from the Sunrise General Fund.
It’s hard to imagine what those needs will be in the future and they could change drastically over time. We’ve all seen how much society has changed and how quickly it is still changing. The beauty of the General Fund is that it will always be flexible to respond to those changes as and when they happen.
The stronger the General Fund the more we can support those with immediate needs – the most needy right now – whoever they may be and whenever their need arises. Whether that’s this year, in 20 years, 100 years or more from now.
The Sunrise General Fund will adapt to meet the needs of our community as they change and remember Sunrise only grants to causes in the Gisborne District. All the money raised here, stays here.
Applications are now being invited in the 2020 funding round, applications close on 30 June 2020. Click here for funding criteria and application form.
