Sunrise has an investment committee whose role is to advise trustees on the appointment of specialist investment managers and oversee their stewardship of investments.
Sunrise attracts favourable terms for investment advisory and management services because of the size of our investment portfolio. In addition there is the expert oversight of investments by our investment committee.
Each year a portion of income is retained in a reserve to ensure growth of the portfolio in line with inflation and to protect capital from future investment market fluctuations. The balance of income after retention for fund growth and protection is gifted as grants to worthy causes in the Tairāwhiti-Gisborne District.
