Sunrise supports charities and community organisations that have a charitable purpose in Tairāwhiti-Gisborne (the area covered by the Gisborne District Council).

Since we launched three years ago we have awarded 61 grants to worthy causes across the arts, community, education, environment, health and sports communities in Tairāwhiti-Gisborne, with a total value of $109,000.

When you can apply 

We do one funding round per annum, we are now taking applications for the 2018 funding round.

Who can apply

Eligibility and funding priorities are decided each year by the Sunrise Grants Committee and set out in our funding policy.
